What’s your favorite thing about living in Thailand?

My favorite thing about living in Thailand is the Thai people. They are always so kind and always smile, and you’ll never be rejected when seeking help.

What is one thing you would recommend someone visiting Thailand should do?

Try the food in each province or region you visit in Thailand. As good as they are, there is much more to discover than pad Thai or tom yum gung. Thai people have different eating habits and menus based on their location and religion. The southern and Isaan regions offer some of the spiciest food in the country.

What’s one piece of advice you would give someone visiting Thailand?

When visiting Thailand, consider supporting local businesses, shops, restaurants, and tour companies. Many businesses are owned by foreigners, and the local community does not benefit from them.

In your opinion as a local expert in Thailand, what are your country’s top highlights?

To me, Thailand’s top highlights are its beaches and islands, its food, and its culture.

When’s the best time to visit Thailand?

Thailand can be visited year-round. It’s worth noting that May to October is the rainy season, but July and August are still considered high season despite the rain. February to May is the smoky season in the north. The best time to visit, considering weather conditions, is November to February, but prices are higher during this period.

Can you recommend the best dish or food for visitors to try?

Thailand offers so many great foods, making it difficult for me to choose the best. But, if I had to recommend one dish, it would be som tum (green papaya salad) with grilled chicken alongside laab muu (spicy minced pork salad).
