What’s your favorite thing about living in Tunisia?

What I love most about living in Tunisia? It’s the magic in every corner—from the historic alleys of the medina in Tunis and the ruins of Carthage to sunset views over Sidi Bou Said. In a single day, you can go from the cool mountains of Ain Draham to the Sahara dunes near Douz. And everywhere, there’s warmth: neighbors chatting over mint tea, the scent of tabouna bread, and the ever-present “ahla w sahla” (hello/welcome). Sharing these moments with our guests makes Tunisia feel even more like home.

What is one thing you would recommend someone visiting your country should do?

If there’s one thing I’d recommend, it’s to take the time to experience a night under the stars in the Tunisian Sahara. It’s a truly unforgettable adventure—sitting by the campfire, listening to local stories, and gazing up at a sky filled with stars like you’ve never seen. The quiet, the vastness, and the beauty of the desert capture the soul of Tunisia in a way that stays with you long after you leave.

What’s one piece of advice you would give someone visiting your country?

One piece of advice? Come with an open heart and a curious spirit! Tunisia is a land of hidden gems, and the best experiences often come from embracing the unexpected, whether it’s accepting an invitation for tea, wandering through a lively market, or getting lost in the winding streets of a centuries-old medina. The more you immerse yourself, the more Tunisia reveals its magic.

What are your country’s top three highlights?

The Sahara Desert: Experience camel rides, starlit nights, and the awe-inspiring silence of Tunisia’s vast desert.

Ancient Roman sites: Discover the grandeur of El Jem’s amphitheater, Dougga’s ruins, and the historic city of Carthage.

Vibrant medinas: Wander through the lively medinas of Tunis, Kairouan, and Sousse, full of artisan crafts, spices, and rich Tunisian culture.

When is the best time to visit Tunisia?

The best time to visit Tunisia is from March to May and September to November. In spring, you’ll enjoy mild weather, blooming landscapes, and ideal conditions for exploring historic sites and coastal towns. Fall offers pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds, perfect for desert adventures and seaside relaxation. These seasons capture Tunisia’s charm at its best.

What are some dishes anyone should try when touring Tunisia?

The best dish to try in Tunisia is couscous—a comforting, flavorful staple enjoyed across the country, and typically served with lamb, chicken, or fish. For something a bit more adventurous, don’t miss brik, a crispy pastry filled with egg and tuna, often served as an appetizer. Both are true tastes of Tunisian hospitality!
